seriously.

a week ago today, I sat down to write a blog. you probably don't believe me because I write blogs significantly more than I post them. the blog was about taking steps, no matter how small, so that one day, I might be able to get into the field of interior styling for magazines. I had read that night in emily henderson's blog that to do interior styling as a professional, you need an internship at martha stewart living in new york before you can even think about it as an option. it's my dream job. and has been since I was seven and rearranged my bedroom furniture each week (though I didn't know what it was called or that there was even a way to get paid to do it). It's my knack. It's the only thing I have 100% confidence in my skillset to do - make furniture look better than it did, make a room look completely transformed. I'm definitely still growing in it and not 100% confident that it's always the best, but I know that I can do it, even on my tiniest budget. so yep. if I had posted my blog and if you had read it, you would know that I now would be committed to taking steps so that in 3 or 4 years, I might be able to do this full-time.

God blows me away sometimes and most times. the next morning I found out about an opportunity to stage a home for Century 21. I jumped on it. I also instigated zach and logan to do a mock styling shoot with me that we could all add to our portfolios. small steps were happening and I felt so hopeful that this could happen for me someday. that afternoon (friday), I was called by a company in urbandale for a position to do set styling for interior magazine photo shoots. I had an interview monday morning, had the second tier interview immediately after, and was called the next afternoon with a job offer. seriously, God?

I start a week from today as the studio assistant to the interior stylist for life:beautiful magazine. It's a faith based interior/home/lifestyle magazine at grey dog media. founded by christians. run by christians. the position is buying furniture, painting walls, diy furniture/crafts, set styling and design, and photo shoot assistance. benefits and salary. opportunity for growth into an interior stylist position. I cannot be more thrilled. as you may have read a few posts back, I've been pretty directionless this winter with my life. I am so thankful. I am blessed and overwhelmed by how quickly life is changing from last week to this week.

my God saved me from eternity in hell. and lets me know Him intimately as my Lord. that is so much more than enough. all praise to God for knowing His children and desiring to bless them in His perfect timing. ugh. so humbled. and undeserving. and so incredibly, incredibly thrilled.
